We like to think of ourselves as treating everyone equally and rationally considering every suggestion or option that is presented to us. However, humans are not robots. We have emotions, preconceived notions and biases, and not all decisions can be made by consensus. What happens when one spouse is used to making the final decision in a workplace setting? How will this affect the family? Will this decision making spouse unintentionally act as the boss in the family setting? In a business setting and in a family setting, at times you need to discuss important matters, matters that have large consequences. You have to assert your view, and you don’t always get your way. If these dynamics are playing out concurrently in two environments, the business and the family, will the stress be compounded? The answer is yes.
